Hi everyone! I found out tonight that i’m supposed to make father’s day dinner tomorrow and need some help finding a recipe or some tips to make it more special.
My dad is super american he likes meat and potatoes and pretty plain food with minimal seasoning so I’m thinking something that won’t set him on edge.
The only meat I have is pork chops- they’re pretty small but fairly thick. I was planning to beat them thinner and pan fry them with a panko coating. I know this is usually served with a lemon caper sauce but I have no capers 😭 are there any replacements I can use sauce wise or caper wise to add to the pork? Should I marinate them or anything for more flavor?
I also have a lot of mushrooms that need to be used and some french bread. Sadly, no good cheese to make some baked mushroom cheesy bread. Any ideas what to do with them?
I have some broccoli I was going to just steam and maybe make some mashed potatoes to round everything out.
My dad said we didn’t have to do anything special but I still want him to have a great meal because we couldn’t afford to gift anything. I feel lame only giving a home made card lol I’m also not very good cook so I’m not sure what’s the best ways to do this
Any advice would be appreciated! If you have any new suggestions for the ingredients, please feel free to share! In the meantime, i’ll be looking for recipes online
