My daughter has recently wanted to try baking and wants to make a raspberry cake for my brother’s birthday. Since this is her first attempt at baking on her own, I’m looking for a simple recipe. Would a boxed vanilla cake mix work if she adds raspberry purée? Naturally, she would rather make it from scratch, but that would be a good second option. Another thing is nobody here really likes buttercream or cream cheese frosting (a bit too heavy for us), so would a chocolate ganache pair well? Of course, if anyone here has a simple raspberry cake recipe, my daughter would love to try it. Thanks!!
