My mother used to make this with canned peaches. Forget it! I'm changing it up a bit.
Needed:
5-6 fresh ripened peaches peeled and cut up into slices and/or bite size pieces 1 hand full fresh raspberries (us frozen in a pinch/you can't tell the difference) 3/4 cup granulated sugar 3/4 cup water 1 box of yellow cake mix 1& 1/2 stick of butter melted (Don't use margarine! You want the richness of real butter) Cinnamon
13x9 in pan sprayed with cooking spray. Set oven to 350 degrees.
Sprinkle sugar over the cut up peach pieces in a medium bowl. Let set 1/2 hour to get the juices started. Then add water and stir until incorporated. Pour the peaches and the juice into the pan, spreading the pieces around the bottom of the pan evenly. Sprinkle peaches with raspberries. Shake dry cake mix over top of fruit. Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix and give a couple shakes of cinnamon on top.
Bake for 35-40 minutes until bubbly and slightly browned. Serve warm with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream if preferred. Or just eat it as is.
