I was under the impression it was a pepper and dried, cured and shredded for a dark red spice (how I've seen it at stores and in my Mom's kitchen growing up long ago). I see chipotles in adobo sauce at the store now alongside Adobo-brand spices that look similar to lemon-pepper. I can now barely find any references online let alone the old spice canister I remember.
One of my favorite places now added Adobo-cured steak skewers to their menu and I'm attempting to recreate. What exactly is it?
