I tried cooking Lamb Shoulder Chop, rib eyes and ground beef. I have cast iron skillet and slow cooker. I cooked lamb in the slow cooker. Others in skillet. I use only salt.
After cooking, no matter how well I cook (I cooked rib eyes from rare to medium well, all possible alternatives) or even if its grass fed, they all give me this unpleasant smell and taste. It smells and tastes as if the meat is TOO FRESH in a way that's BAD. It tastes uncivilized or rough (usually meat is juicy and tender, but rough in taste, not sure how to describe it). Its gross and I can't eat it. (I grew up in mediterrian so that's maybe why. I don't like burger patties in the US because it has that raw taste too even if its cooked well)
If I marinade the meat with lots of herbs and sauce over night, I think it would taste good. But I'm doing elimination diet right now (only animal food) so I don't want to use plants or dairy products.
I'd REALLY appreciate it if you can help me make meat taste good. I'm buying duck fat tomorrow to help the taste.
Literally the only food I can eat comfortably is salmon. Nothing else. So I really need to figure out how to make beef or lamb taste okay
