Cooking goldfish

Live goldfish. I stole like 12 of them from walmart the other day cause i wanted a pet of my one but I'm hungry.I have a crack torch lighter to cook them and i can dip them in honey. Can you eat pet fish? If not im gonna let them live in my 200 gallon tank.

If eating fish doesnt work I'll prolly try to catch a squirrel and fry it in motor oil.

In search of blackfinn ameripub chicken parm recipe

This item is no longer on blackfinn’s menu. I’ve never had this dish, but my girlfriend loved it and has asked me to try and recreate it for her. From her description the chicken was done in traditional chicken parm fashion. The pasta, however was sauced in a white wine butter sauce with capers and a few other things. If anyone could shed some light on this I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Looking for a lower calorie garlic spread recipe.

I often buy or purchase "Toum" which is a Lebanese garlic sauce made with garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt. Clocking in at 100 calories per tablespoon, I can't really fit it in with my diet and fitness goals as often as I would like. I'm looking for another option but am not sure where to start. I could use greek yogurt or sour cream, maybe? Or some kind of cheese, or I could cut it with something?

What are your thoughts?

Bubba's Tomato Butter/Tomato Jam

Here is my grandmother's homemade tomato butter. It was both sweet and spicy. She would make this while canning all of the summer vegetables she grew. It is the perfect thing to make with tomatoes that are going soft or if you have excess tomatoes. They do not have to be in great shape just not bruised. You can even use some green tomatoes in the mix. It is great with toast. I used to make pbj sandwiches with it. This only makes about one jar. If you make more then you will want to go through the canning process for long term storage or give them away.

Remember this is my grandmother's recipe so she did not use fancy vinegar or fresh ginger. You could experiment with changes but this is her recipe.

Tomato Butter

1 lb. Tomatoes - under or overripe

1/4 cup plain Vinegar

1/2 cup granulated Sugar

1 tsp. Cinnamon

1/2 tsp. Ground Ginger

1 tsp. Ground Cloves

Peel and chop up the tomatoes. Put peeled tomatoes and juices in deep sauce pan. Because of the acid do not use an aluminum pan. Add sugar, vinegar and spices. Cook covered (prop the lid open with the handle of a wooden spoon) over medium low heat stirring occasionally until tomatoes completely cook down into a thick sauce with no chunks left. Pour into hot clean canning or mason jar. Place the jar on a kitchen towel, away from drafts, on the counter till it comes to room temperature. Refrigerate.

NOTE: She left in the seeds because you want the pulp. If you want it seed free, you can pass the tomatoes through a food mill before cooking or use an immersion blender part way through cooking. I would even try it grilled fish or chicken.

Chicken 65 is a spicy andfried chicken dish. chicken 65 is an invention of A.M Buhari of the Buhari Hotel chain. we also have Vegetarian version like "Paneer 65" , "Gobi 65" use Paneer or cauliflower instead.some account claims that it is a dish containing 65 chilli peppers , other says that it was 65 item in menu, this chicken dish originating from Chennai, India.

Ingredients of Chicken 65

  • 1 tsp of lemon juice
  • salt as per taste

How to make Chicken 65

Step 1

For the marination, take a bowl add cleaned chicken piece ,chilli powder, lemon juice, cumin powder, pepper powder, curd, garlic paste, ginger paste and salt together. This marination step is very important and will give this chicken recipe real flavour. keep it aside for 15 mins

It would be unfair to myself to date someone who doesn't like onions, garlic or mustard. I've immediately given up on dates the second I've found it that they refused to eat these things. In dating a girl now who doesn't like cilantro or spicy and I'm slowly introducing them into her diet aha.

Onions and garlic are the basis for like 80% of meals I make.

Dinner recipes for a picky husband?

Hi all! Just found this community because we are wanting to eat in more, to save money and be a bit healthier. My husband is a picky eater, and he mainly eats white meat; specifically salmon, chicken and turkey. Lots of rice and veggies. He has high blood pressure so we try to avoid too much red meat and sodium. Most recipes I’ve found have been super complicated or have a looong list of ingredients, which I don’t mind every now and then, but it gets tiring doing a long recipe every single night when I’m tired from work. Does anyone have any good recipes that we would enjoy? Thanks in advance :)

Have Ingredients List, But No Recipe, No Portion Size

Hi,

I have an all-time favorite chocolate chip cookie that is made of dreams and starlight, it comes from a certain bougie restaurant in my home town of Chicago and I've been asking them for it for about a year now to no avail.

However what they did recently give me was an ingredients list... I'm wondering if anyone can discern, from similar recipes that I've found, in conjunction with the ingredients list the place gave me, a plausible set of directions to achieve this amazing, delectable cookie.

I found this and this recipe going off the toffee component, which should my attempts for guidance fail here, I will go off of. I'd just be grateful for something more tailored to the ingredients list. I've sought a perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe for a looooooooong time...

Here are some photos of the cookies in question that I'm trying to reproduce.

And here is the list of ingredients I received from the restaurant:

  • Butter, melted
  • AP flour
  • Baking soda
  • Table salt
  • Dark brown sugar
  • Granulated sugar
  • Eggs
  • Egg yolks
  • Vanilla paste
  • Caramel paste
  • Toffee, ground
  • Mi-Amer 58% chocolate pistole
  • Tanzanie 75% chocolate pistole

Bbq steamed pork bun help?

Growing up my Chinese Grandad was an amazing chef. My mom (his daughter) is also an amazing cook but only cooks western style dishes. I grew up eating bbq steamed pork buns, I can say the name in Chinese but I wouldn’t even know how to begin to spell it. Mother's Chocolate Torte Recipe Lost: Please Help

I'm looking for a recipe for a torte. Here are the key features:

yellow sponge alternating with chocolate frosting that had a fudge-like texture.

Cake batter separated yolks and whites. Yolks were supposed to be beaten with mixer for twenty minutes by the clock. I am not 100% sure, but I believe the whites were used rather than discarded.

Thin, almost crepe-like layers were baked individually and cooled, rather than baking thick layers and slicing.

It was assembled layer by layer. Because of the baking process, it took pretty much all day. The cake layers were not brushed with melted jam or anything, just layered with the fudge.

Mother called it a dobosh torte but it wasn't really. This sponge was, well, "spongier" and the chocolate fudge frosting (of which I recall no recipe details) was really toothsome.

Mother copied it a couple of times for me, but I kept moving and lost it. I figured I'd just get a copy from her cookbook when she died. She died in a house fire, that (ironically) started in the kitchen. Googling hasn't helped me. I'm hoping this sounds familiar to someone.

It was definitely a "home" recipe. We lived in the Detroit area, if region helps.

Thank you.

Healthy recipes for a school seminar?

tl;dr at the end and sorry for the (likely horrible) formatting, it does look fine on my phone but yeah, that doesn't really say anything.

So, I'm part of a seminar (a special class in German Oberstufe, the last 2 years before graduation, everybody is part of one, just the topics are very different) that focuses, among other things, on healthy nutrition. As a kind of project we decided we want to go away for a week in about a month, planning this entire thing ourselves (although always talking to our teacher before deciding anything important). Now, I was assigned to the group that's dealing with the problem of what to eat during that week. Because the seminar is focused on nutrition, obviously that would ideally be healthy, although it doesn't actually need to fulfill any conditions like being keto/low carb/vegan, it can be all of those though, just carnivore (=meals made of animal products, mainly meat exclusively) might be a problem.

Now, while I really enjoy cooking, I usually don't eat super healthy, also I thought you might have some ideas regarding what we might want to give a shot. One thing I need to add: we're not going to be able to go grocery shopping every day, most likely twice during our week. So, for now, I'm off to school, but I'd love to hear some of your ideas as to what we could eat when I come back.

tl;dr: We are going away for one week with school, I'm supposed to think of what we can eat, so I'd love to hear your ideas.

The piece of heaven called Mozart Cake

Hi everyone!

A few years ago, I was in a restaurant and someone ordered Mozart Cake. It looked amazing, and I ordered a slice as well. Ever since, the memory has haunted me and I have scoured the internet, looking for a recipe to recreate the only time in my life I felt joy.

I suspect that the cake is well known, but the name was unique. I can best describe it as layers of Japonaise (soft meringue with seasonal tree nuts) and hazelnut praline cream, topped with fine chocolate shavings.

I have, as of yet, not find a recipe. Is anyone familiar with a Mozart Cake? Can I have a recipe for it? Please Reddit, come through.

Noodle with Egg Recipe on a tight budget!

Boil noodle for 3 minutes and keep it in a separate pot. Throw water from noodle and clean it with fresh water. Heat olive oil in another pan, fry garlic until it becomes brown, then add peas and tomatoes. You can also add cabbage and carrot if you like. After frying with vegetables now put noodles and stir well. Add salt depending on your taste level, chili oil, masala from the packet, add a little bit of water and stir it well. We need to put a little bit of water so that spices can go inside of noodles. Put scallion and cilantro and mix it well. At the end before its ready, mix fried eggs with noodles.

Wai wai noodle tastes even better with tomato pickle, ketchup, sweet chili sauce or spicy hot sauce depending on your taste. This noodle can be easily bought from Indian, Nepali, Thai or Chinese grocery store and is not expensive. It will cost you around fifty cents for one packet. 1 packet will be enough for 1 people.

For details with picture please check the link here. Thank you.

Looking for chicken drumstick recipes

I bought a lot of chicken drumsticks on sale, at first thinking I'd make cacciatore out of them, but then my husband admitted he has never been a big fan of cacciatore. I'd love some ideas if you don't mind please. I have about three pounds of chicken drumsticks. Thank you!

Why don’t people like eating homemade?

This doesn’t apply to everyone.

I was just thinking, over the past 10 years I’ve seen a significant increase in eating out vs. eating in my circle of friends.

At one point last year I was eating out atleast 3 times a week. It wasn’t until I realized that I was spending way too much on eating out. Now I cook virtually all of my meals.

  1. Why do you think many people prefer eating out versus homemade meals?

  2. What are some of the difficulties of cooking at home?

Semi Cajun King Ranch Casserolle.

I would like to add a semi Cajun, Texan recipe. King Ranch Casserolle With crawfish Tails. Yummy. Sauce, cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup. Sour cream, red enchilada sauce, jack cheese and cheddar cheese. Corn tortillas and crawfish tails. Stack like a lasagna. Sauce at the bottom of the nonstick pan. Layer corn tortillas. Layer more sauce, cheese and crawfish tails. Repeat for two or three layers. Add more sauce on top and more cheese. Cover in foil and bake at 425 for 30-40 minutes until bubbling. Yum. Add what ever spices you like to the sauce mix to make it more, lagniappe.

Ray's Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies

I shared a story and recipe two years ago which arose from a "cookie exchange" at work.

[ Post here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/recipes/comments/5zfa4e/peanut_butter_vanilla_cookies/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share ]

When a coworker said she was going to bring in Triple Chocolate Chip cookies, I swore I'd bring in quadruple vanilla cookies. It was my first time baking cookies, but they actually turned out good.

I took a triple chocolate chip cookie recipe and tweaked it to achieve my prior results. Then about a year ago, I swore I'd tweak the recipe and make chocolate chip cookies. One year later, I finally felt motivated enough to do it. This is my second time baking cookies, but they actually turned out to be really delicious.

My technique and approach even improved greatly in my humble opinion. It took me all day the first time. This time I split the process into two days, deciding to chill the dough overnight instead of for a few hours. Things went much quicker.

Although maybe they could have used more chocolate chips.

Here is the recipe:

NOTE: THE RECIPE COULD PROBABLY BENEFIT IN A SLIGHT INCREASE OF CHOCOLATE CHIPS, MORSELS, AND PIECES

Ingredients

  1. 1.5 sticks of butter (I used salted)
  2. 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  3. .5 cup of light brown sugar
  4. 2/3 cup of granulated sugar
  5. 2 large eggs
  6. 2 tsp cream cheese
  7. 1/4 cup of molasses
  8. 1 pk instant vanilla pudding mix
  9. 1/2 cup of powdered chocolate peanut butter
  10. 1/4 cup of cocoa powder
  11. 6 oz melted white chocolate** (I used two types one specifically for baking and one that was either Lindt or Ghirardelli)
  12. 1/2 cup melted butterscotch morsels
  13. 1/4 cup cookie butter
  14. Add 1/2 cup of vanilla or plain yogurt
  15. 2 cups all-purpose flour
  16. 1 tsp baking soda
  17. Salt (I used a few pinches of sea salt
  18. 1/3 cup of chocolate chips
  19. 1/3 cup of nestle chocolate morsels
  20. 4oz of milk chocolate broken into pieces (I used baker's chocolate and a regular Hershey Bar.)

You'll also need:

  1. Parchment paper
  2. Cling wrap
  3. Wisk
  4. Cookie scoop***
  5. 2 baking sheets minimum
  6. Large bowl

Leave butter out for 15-20 mins so it warms to room temperature; cut into smaller squares to speed up process.

  1. Mix the ingredients below well with a whisk until texture is creamy.

1.5 sticks of butter 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract .5 cup of light brown sugar 2/3 cup of granulated sugar 2 large eggs 2 tsp cream cheese 1/4 cup of molasses

  2. Scrape down sides of bowl; add ingredients below; mix until just combined

1 pk instant vanilla pudding mix 1/2 cup of powdered chocolate peanut butter** 1/4 cup of cocoa powder 6 oz melted white chocolate** 1/2 cup melted butterscotch morsels** 1/4 cup cookie butter

**To melt set the microwave to 50% power and run for 1 minute. You will need to run additionally, at 50% stirring every 30 seconds until it is mostly melted. This took me an additional minute for both the white chocolate and butterscotch morsels

  1. Scrape down sides of bowl; add ingredient below; mix until just combined

Add 1/2 cup of vanilla or plain yogurt

  2. Scrape down sides of bowl; add ingredients below; mix until just combined

2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda salt to taste

  3. Scrape down sides of bowl; add ingredients below; mix until just combined

1/3 cup of chocolate chips 1/3 cup of nestle chocolate morsels 4oz of milk chocolate broken into pieces

  4. Cover bowl with cling wrap and chill dough in refrigerator over night

Baking instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 °F

  2. Cover your baking sheets with oven safe parchment paper.

  3. Use a medium cookie scoop and place about 12 mounds (or whatever seems reasonable) on a single baking tray. Make sure they are spaced out.

  4. Bake for about 15 minutes. ( I baked a single tray at a time. So I did this about 5 times. As the dough was sitting out for a little while, and warming up, I lowered my cook time after the second batch. By the 3rd it was 14 minutes, 4th 13 minutes, and 5th was 12 minutes)

  5. Cookies will firm up as they cool. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 15 minutes.

  6. Enjoy and share with the people you love

Looking for your favorite staple meals. Trying to broaden the family cookbook

My wife and I like to cook every night, but we ran out of ideas pretty quick.

She’s pretty picky about veggies, but she likes potatoes, green beans, and cabbage.

We have a crock pot slow cooker, and an instant pot that we are still learning to use. I work 10-12 hours most days so something easy would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Recipes to make for a 10 year old

Hi!

So, I am looking for any suggestion I could make for my 10 year old daughter. I am getting to the point where I don't even want to make anything for her. Because all the food I have made she doesn't eat so it all goes to waste. I have asked her what does she want and she doesn't know. So my question is what food do you make for kids that ar extremely picky eaters?

Hi guys! I’m holding a housewarming party and I want to cook up a nice buffet.

Finger foods are what I’m looking for but if anyone can suggest a main to base everything around, that’d be great too!

Please recommend anything you think would suit! It’s a casual event.
