We ate at a restaurant in Islamorada called "Lorelei" and my kids loved their key lime pie. It was white and fluffy, not custardy, and when we inquired about it all they'd tell us was "it's made with ice cream ingredients." I assumed that meant a custard, but this was very different.
I have searched the internet high and low; I discovered stabilized whipped cream (whipped cream with gelatin) and I wonder if that might be something. It definitely was not frozen when we ate it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated; I'd love to recreate this recipe for my kids.
thanks!
