I mean, I had these beer hard candies laying around, and this cotton candy maker. Had to give it a try. Check out the videos they're pretty cool.
But the results were not spectacular. It did taste a little like beer though. Too sweet though. I mostly blame the candy. They don't make it anymore it seems, and I would venture a guess that it's because it's not very good. It's really just sugar and a little hop extract. I'd like to try this using isomalt and some malt and hops extract to see if I can get a better result. Either way, it was an entertaining experiment.
Ingredients
- 5-6 beer flavored hard candies.
- 1 hard candy cotton candy machine
Directions
- I used a Nostalgia brand Hard Candy Cotton Candy Maker I found on Amazon. Just plug it in and turn it on. Let it run for 10 minutes to warm up.
- Crush up the hopdrops so they melt easily.
- Turn off the machine. Add the crushed candy. Turn it back on.
- Run a cone around the chamber and collect all of that candy webbing.
