Chicken and sausage Gumbo Mofo
Aight so you wanna make a gumbo? Well based on my prior knowledge of watching 3 youtube videos, I think I got dis shiz down.
First you gots to get your ingredients:
Meat my dude, 1/2 lbs sausage, 4 cups cooked chicken Veggie oil (canola) 1-3 tablespoons, watch your arteries fam 5 tablespoons all purpose flour 1 cup of finely cut onion 1 cup chopped celery 2 garlicky bois (minced) 1 green pepper chopped up 4 cans of that sweet, sweet chicken juice (broth 14.5 oz ) Paprika, cyanne, Definitely a teaspoon of thyme 1 table spoon of creole seasoning Some Old Bae I guess (Old bay seasoning, 1 teaspoon) Lots of salt…like lots of salt, might as well put the whole damn rock of salt in
LEZ MAKE ET:
First we gotta make one roux to rule them all
- Put that oil on some heat fo shizzle, wait for it to get toasty (medium high heat)
- Add in small amounts of dat flowuhhh til it all in
- DON’T STAP STURRIN THAT SHIZ WILL BURN
- Get it to a pasty consistency and keep going til it turns into a penny color
- You just made a roux. Nice.
Now we gotta make duh gummmmbooooooiiiii
- Add in that holy trinity to the roux that god himself would smile upon (Onion, celery, Pepper)
- Add in the sweet sweet chicken juice
- Put those garlicy bois in da pot
- Add in all dat mhuwa spiceeee
- Splash in some of that kosher salt (to taste)
- aDD IN DAT MEAT
- MAKE SOME RICE…or not…its your life…do what you want
- EAT THAT DELICIOUS GUMBOOOIIIII
