Fritter Ingredients:
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 cups flour
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
2 honey crisp apples, finely diced
2-4 cups Canola Oil (depending on frying method)
Cinnamon Sugar Topping:
1/2 cup sugar
1-2 tbsp cinnamon (I used 2)
Yields: 25-30
Time: 30 minutes
Directions:
Pour the milk, eggs and sugar into a mixing bowl. Mix gently until blended.
Add the flour, cinnamon, salt and baking powder to the bowl. Mix until smooth and fully incorporated. Let the batter sit while you set up the fryer and cut the apples.
Fryer:
Fill the fryer to the max fill line and set the heat to 375°F.
Skillet:
Fill up a deep skillet with 1"- 2" of canola oil and heat to 350°F. - 375°F.
Cut the apples with an apple slicer. Then dice the slices into little pieces. Gently incorporate the pieces into the batter.
Line a plate with paper towels.
Add a heaping spoonful of the dough to your fryer setup while taking care to not put too many in the pan at once.
Turn the dough balls and fry them until they are golden brown (about 4 minutes total).
Place the cooked balls on the paper towel lined plate until they are dry and slightly cooled. When warm but not hot, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Continue doing this with the remainder of the batter.
Eat and enjoy!
