Learning on a budget. Suggestions? Tips?

Hey all, I'm learning mix my groceries so I can buy multiple of the same stuff and still have different meals for that week. I should also add that I don't cook much; I just moved out on my own. (Will also likely post to another food related sub, so apologies if you see this twice)

I love a good burrito. The burrito places in my city are great but I would rather not spend $20 for every one I have. Meanwhile I'm having a hard time finding a simple recipe without beans or avocados.

I've experimented with ramen a lot (a broke student's best friend). I add eggs, frozen veggies, peppers, spices here and there. I feel like some of the things I use for my ramen could also be used for a burrito.

I've also heard of people having chicken and rice? It was never a meal I've had growing up so I'm not familiar with that.

I don't often buy meat because I find it expensive but I get the chance to when I get a good tip or two at work.
