I've made r/Old_Recipes as a place to share and search for old family recipes and recipes from old cookbooks. It's so easy for recipes like this to become lost and there are so many good recipes that only one family gets to enjoy

r/Old_Recipes is a place to:

  • share old recipes
  • request lost recipes (that thing grandma always made)
  • post photos of your attempts at old recipes
  • post old public domain cookbooks like this
  • post an old recipe that is lacking in instructions to see if we can decipher how it's meant to be prepared.

Get out your old family recipes - including the weird ones - and please share them with us. If your older relatives make something great and you're not sure how it's made take some time to sit down with them and get the recipe written down so it can be saved as a family heirloom.
