Due to unforeseen family drama, I'm now making Thanksgiving dinner for my husband, my son, and I together at home. All the other Thanksgiving things I know how to make. Except my hubby has requested a special Mac and cheese. My normal everyday Mac is just a simple roux, a ton of shredded cheddar, and elbow Noddles. It's super thick and almost sticky. Very filling. After asking some very direct questions, I have my husband's dream Thanksgiving mac and cheese!
Only now I can't find a recipe that will work.
Here's his list:
-Corkscrew noodles
-White cheese
-Thick and creamy sauce
-Ham to be included
-A toasted cheese top
-Maybe some breadcrumbs on top too
Does anyone have any ideas? I know it's going to need to be baked, and I'm okay with that, just never done it before. Will a white cheddar work? Can I still use a roux for baking? Also, my son is 1, so he won't be eating alot and we have several other sides so whatever recipe y'all find will be cut down. If it's already cut down that would be bonus points!
