My auntie told us to clip off the "beards" with a pair of scissors and freeze them. But now that I'm home and craving some mussels I'm not sure what to do next. They're frozen and we didn't clean off all the barnacles on the shells and we weren't able to get those thin brown hairs from inside the shells. Should we be cleaning these again when we thaw them? How??
This is my first time prepping some mussels, any tips? A delicious recipe would be appreciated too!
