I really want to make Ina Garten's Honey Vanilla Pound Cake (https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/honey-vanilla-pound-cake-recipe-1925091) for Rosh Hashanah, and since apples and honey are traditional, I want to incorporate apples somehow. I don't want to put apples inside the cake, but would something like an apple compote to be put over a slice be good? Or an apple glaze, if such a thing exists? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
