Hi!
So since I'm a decent cook I like to keep a very low budget for food as I can usually whip up anything with cheap ingredients around the house, but being a huge fall lover, I'm now looking for wallet friendly recipes for fall time. I've usually just made whatever all year round, but living on my own has really allowed me to get more creative with the ingredients and ideas. I moved to the United States from Europe and have never tried pumpkin anything, really. I love the idea of experimenting with making pumpkin pies and cakes, hearty soups and aromatic roasted vegetables, but every site I go on for recipes has at least one ingredient that would be a bit out of my budget, especially for just trying out one recipe.
I just wanted to ask for recommendations of maybe ingredients that would be worth stocking up on or recipes that use affordable ingredients that make a tasty fall dish. By fall I mean pumpkin spice, maple, caramel flavors and lots of vegetables like squash, carrots, sweet potatoes etc! (Fresh figs, olives and very expensive, fancy cheeses and nuts are a bit too pricey for me right now.) I just tried these rustic maple and butter roasted carrots which were cheap and delicious and dishes like that would be wonderful! Sadly I haven't had much luck finding recipes that would fit my budget as being vague on my google searches gives me very basic recipes and I do not know what specific recipes to look up!
Thanks so much!
