I am trying to figure out what kind of cookie we used to have as kids for the holidays. They are about the size and shape of a pinky finger and they are relatively flat. If I remember right there are slight bit of some kind of nuts in them. Very finely ground. The dough is a white to cream color and usually there is a stripe of red or green icing on top. The icing is not soft. They are not sugar cookies or snickerdoodles. They are kind of crunchy/brittle and not chewy. Any ideas from you or your grandma?
