Impulsively purchased (Napa/Chinese) cabbage... now what do I do with it?

I bought Napa cabbage instead of the old bowling ball shaped cabbage I always buy. What are the best ways to use this? I don't want to make any Oriental dishes. I read this cabbage is sweeter and more tender than the cabbage I usually buy. Would it work for making coleslaw? Would it go well with beef and potatoes? I also read it is best to use it within 3 days of purchasing it. Is this true?
