My take on Cook Cook's Fiend Stew from Fallout: New Vegas

INGREDIENTS

1 large russet potato (cubed)

1 jalapeno pepper (minced, optionally seeded)

1 very large steak/2 average steaks (approximately 1kg, cubed)

2 beers (24 oz)

Optionally

2 large carrots (peeled, cubed)

1 yellow onion (peeled, diced)

1 clove of garlic (crushed)

1/8th cup flour

1/8th cup brown sugar

500ml Beef consomme

Salt

Pepper

Cooking oil of personal preference

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mise en place

  2. Sear meat in heavy bottomed pot with oil

  3. Lower heat to medium, add garlic and onion, sautee until translucent

  4. Add flour, beer, enough beef consomme to cover the beef and onion, brown sugar, and jalapenos, and allow alcohol to evaporate

  5. Lower heat and let simmer for 2-3 hours or until a desired thickness is reached

  6. Add carrots and potatoes and allow them to cook through

  7. Season with salt and pepper, and serve
