Can you/should you eat the skin of a baked cushaw squash?

I've got a cushaw squash in the oven. The skin looks fairly thin, like I could eat it, but all the recipes I find online have you remove the skin. Don't feel like screwing with my digestive system, but I do normally like squash skins.
