The restaurant I work at is having a contest between employees to create a new item for our menu. My idea was to have a breakfast burger very simple idea but for some reason we don’t have one on the menu yet. So far my idea involves obviously the burger with cheddar cheese, a sunny side up egg for runny yolk goodness, a patty formed from hash browns with bacon bits throughout as well as a couple strips of bacon on it. In the trial run I put sriracha on it as well as our Asian zing (more sweet than spicy hence the sriracha) wing sauce we carry at the restaurant. My question to you guys is how can I perfectly this idea. I’m thinking replace the bun with a waffle possibly. Also another idea is that I wanna incorporate a spicy maple syrup instead of the Asian zing so would I be better off using cayenne powder and maple syrup or red pepper flakes? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
